EVALUACIÓN RETROSPECTIVA DE ÍNDICES REPRODUCTIVOS ENTRE VACAS HOLSTEIN FRIESIAN PURAS Y MESTIZAS F1 CRIADAS A 3200 M.S.N.M.

En la actualidad, el cruzamiento racial del ganado bovino de leche es una alternativa relevante para mejorar los índices reproductivos y de salud animal perjudicados en programas de selección genetica que han buscado en general, el incremento de la produccón láctea. El objetivo de la presente investigación fue realizar un analisis restrospectivo de datos (n = 20 años) y comparar los principales indices reproductivos de vacas holstein puras (HP) y vacas holstein mestizas F1 (HM) en una hacienda ubicada en la provincia de Chimborazo a 3200 m.s.n.m. Se obtuvieron datos completos de vacas HP (n = 63) y vacas HM (n = 57) en un total de 7 gestaciones. Los resultados indican diferencias signifcativas (p<0.05) entre las vacas HP y las vacas HM en edad al primer servicio y edad al primer parto (indices correlacionados), en contraste con la duración de la gestación (p>0.05). El número de servicios por concepción presentó diferencias entre los dos grupos en la segunda y séptima gestación, mientras que el intervalo entre parto y primer servicio presentó diferencias después del segundo y séptimo parto. Finalmente, los grupos en estudio presentaron diferencias en días abiertos e intervalo entre partos (índices correlacionados) en el período previo a la segunda, tercera y séptima gestación. En conclusión, el análisis de indices reproductivos en ganadería, es una herramienta que nos permite evaluar de manera cuantitativa la efciencia reproductiva de los hatos, lo cual mejora de manera objetiva la planifcación y la gestión técnica de selección y manejo de los animales.
